POSITION SUMMARY:
Work within the Women’s Denim Long Legs team and implementing alongside the team direction in all aspects of the design process, from initial concept stage to presentation, to development and execution of the final product.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with senior members of design team to develop product that is trend right and customer focused, based on high level direction given for Women’s Denim Long Legs
  • Stay on top of category specific email communications from vendors and cross functional partners
  • Own full product category from development to production including wash, fit and PLM
  • Partner with assistant on owning email communication with vendors 
  • Develop strong partnerships with cross functional teams and overseas vendors 
  • Understand the design product development cycle, and adhere to AE corporate calendar, in order to hit deliverables
  • Participate in major milestone meetings, and be prepared to present to team leads and leadership
  • Attend technical fittings for product category, and provide feedback on fits and details
  • Attend Shadeband reviews for bulk production
  • Attend wash submit review meetings for product category, and provide comments on wash and details  
  • Build understanding of AEO wash techniques and aesthetic
  • In person/in-office collaboration is required, the frequency of such in-person/in-office collaboration (e.g., portion of week, entire week) is dictated by business needs/ team leads. Such collaboration includes work centralized around product development, milestone meetings, fittings, and approvals

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion or Art (or equivalent experience and education)
  • At least 2-3 years of Denim specific design experience
  • Basic understanding of denim wash and fabrication
  • Must be knowledgeable of Adobe Creative Suite, PLM and Google Workspace 
  • Keen eye for color, trend, detail and construction
  • Able to multi task and prioritize based on business objectives
  • Ability to act as liaison between many departments: excellent communication and analytic skills.
  • Must be detail oriented, computer literate and able to handle multiple tasks at once
  • Comfortable working in an hybrid environment - working in office several days a week (based on the needs of the business or big milestone week) with occasional remote work from home

  • Actual starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to relevant experience and location
