It's an exciting time to be part of our team with all of our award-winning Continuing Dramas that brings audiences together week after week. From EastEnders, Doctors and Casualty to River City and Pobol y Cwm, our programmes remain a constant source of gripping entertainment, featuring cliff-hanger storylines and much-loved characters with whom our viewers have grown up.

River City is BBC Scotland’s flagship drama with the residents of Sheildinch having experienced countless births, deaths and marriages with always more drama to come! We have also featured Scottish actors such as Dawn Steele, Alex Ferns, Frank Gallagher, Barbara Rafferty and Sam Heughan, who have all found their way to Montego Street.

Main Responsibilities:

The main responsibilities of the role include supporting the Script Producer and providing cover for the Script Editors and Script Coordinator as required. You will also read all episodes for continuity and provide detailed continuity notes as required; as well as overseeing all creative admin tasks for the Script team.

Key duties include:

•    Read all required story documents and scripts
•    Create clear and concise continuity notes for the Script Producer and Script Editors, ensuring characters and stories are consistent across the serial
•    Provide cover and assistance for the Script Editors and Script Coordinator when required. This will include holiday and sickness cover, emergency amendments and script publications, proof reading, etc.
•    When covering other Script Editors, represent the interests of the writer to the production team and provide writers with sufficient information to enable the editorial brief to be met
•    Attend story conferences and script meetings as required
•    Oversee all creative admin tasks for the Script Team, including creating all billings and synopses; creating and maintaining series bibles; updating character biographies and managing the continuity spreadsheet
•    Manage the clearances spreadsheet
•    Occasionally provide support to the Story Producer in the story room if required
