Role Responsibility:
As part of the busy Post-Production department within Selfridges’ Photo Studio operation, the Assistant Post-Production Manager provides digital post-production for all product imagery on the Selfridges website. The Assistant Post-Production Manager is responsible for team support and development as well as supporting the smooth day to day running of the department production workflow; ensuring agreed volumes are uploaded to the website within business time frames.
Allocating freelancer resources and ensuring within department budgets. In addition, managing retouching of editorial & creative content for the site to an impeccable finish. We are looking for an experienced retoucher, & manager, with experience in a wide range of retouching disciplines. Confident, excellent people skills with the ability to collaborate and problem solve, comfortable managing a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guardianship to maintain the standard of all retouching online across product imagery and any creative imagery completed in-house.
- Development and support of direct reports as well as the wider team.
- Support Post-Production Manager with department resourcing and budget.
- Support the operation of Post-Production department including the evolvement in team training and development.
- Ownership and maintenance of style/retouch guides.
- Fielding/delegation of all department queries.
- Ownership to ensure competition of priorities within agreed deadlines.
- Onboarding, supporting, and mentoring of new starters.
- Freelancer resourcing and support, raising POs, tracking costs.
- Advance SpinMe user.
- Maintain and resource additional department workflows.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience in retouching across ecommerce and creative fields.
- Experience as a manager or team leader of a retouching team.
- Exceptional Photoshop skills and strong understanding of asset management tools.
- Ability to multitask and handle ownership/management of multiple tight project deadlines at a time.
- Proven successful track record within a management role [people & projects].
- Excellent empathy & communication skills.
- Able to build good rapport with all department managers.
- Coach and influence a team of retouchers to achieve their maximum potential.
- Excellent leadership qualities.
