You’ll be assisting the delivery of inspirational designs that support the values of the category vision and ambition. Working with the Designers & Senior Designers to build relationships with suppliers and the design teams behind the suppliers to create original, exclusive product.

You will assist in delivering key seasonal styles and help to drive newness throughout the range. With a capable hand in photoshop and illustrator you will not only support the senior designer in creating product briefs but be able to do this independently when required. You will need to be able to deliver innovative and commercial product for our broad range of customer types.

As well as being a good communicator helping to representing the team in front of key stakeholders, you’ll manage your time effectively ensuring adherence to the critical path.

As an Assistant Designer you'll:

  • Support with general design admin and support for Design team.
  • Have awareness of the strategic direction for the design department
  • Have understadin material swatch library management
  • Be assisting designers in formulating concept, colour and trend boards for presentations and meetings
  • Be responsible for the creation of project briefs
  • Be emailing/posting all Design specs to relevant suppliers in line with the critical path
  • Have responsibility for upkeep of design/artwork files
  • Be responsible for maintenance and update of colour/theme/trend and bay boards for relevant meetings
  • Be working with external designers, communicating with SAAL (Sainsburys Argos Asia Limited) and suppliers when required.

Our Design team would love to see:

  • Ability to use Outlook, Word, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Effective communicator and team player 
  • Relevant Degree in the Creative Industries  
  • A portfolio of relevant design work 
  • Ability to use 3D software if working on a hardgoods area is beneficial.  
  • Effective communicator and team player 
  • Work experience within a design studio helpful
