Your Role and Responsibilities:
This Social Content Designer will have a unique understanding of internet culture and the kind of content that is shared among communities. You will help develop the overall persona of the IBM brand through a unique voice that authentically connects IBM to community interests. You will create content that represents IBM products and thought leadership in a culturally relevant way, have the ability to create broad campaigns, and actively engage in conversations in ways that contribute to overall brand perception and business goals. You will review and inform content created as part of a larger effort such as brand campaign to ensure it is culturally relevant and relevant to social.

Develop strong social creative concepts and present them in compelling ways taking input from the social strategy and intelligence to define a brand to meet business objectives.
Creates sustainable design systems able to be adapted to the unique characteristics and features of different platforms
Creates a unique brand persona that engages social communities and brings the brand to life in a compelling way. Persona may differ by platform to better connect with that particular community
Creates high-quality deliverables, conducts quality control, training and enablement to ensure successful implementation of integrated brand systems.
Manages development of concepts and assets to meet agreed upon deadlines and goals.
Explores new ways to bring concepts to life across platforms based on cultural awareness and input from strategy + intelligence.
Manages day-to-day development of assets, deliverables and outputs.
Delivers concepts and assets that meet quality standards and branding, marketing and business goals.

This position is located in IBM offices in either New York City, NY.
Must have the ability to work in the US without current/future need for IBM sponsorship.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise:

  • 7+ years experience as a designer in a creative advertising agency or internal/in-house creative team.
  • Experience and passion for creating content for social media.
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to articulate ideas.
  • Highly versatile skills including typography, layout, designing for mobile experiences, basic video editing and photo retouching (basic animation is a plus).
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop and Illustrator, AfterEffects is a plus), PowerPoint, and Keynote.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time.
  • An ability to work within established brand identity systems and style guides.
  • Passion and knowledge of current social media trends.
  • Digital portfolio with social media campaign examples.
