POSITION PURPOSE:
The Designer is responsible for delivering email/CRM design solutions that satisfy business goals and objectives. This associate is a highly creative problem solver, able to carefully construct detailed email design deliverables with proficient speed and exceptional quality. Maintains and provides ongoing design solutions for products, promotions, seasonal events and special projects. Partners with cross functionally teams to deliver seamless solutions. Ensure adherence to brand and program standards as well as templates.
 

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
60%-Creates email concepts/layouts, creative versions depending on tests or segmentation, interactive designs and provides photo direction. Designs creative that meets and exceeds strategic objectives for email Advertising.
20%-Works with a creative team of designers.

The Home Depot online team, project managers, copywriters, developers/production, agencies, photographers and other vendors. Attends cross-functional meetings to gather direction to begin building content within formulated layouts.
20%-Provides quality assurance and quality standards on creative deliverables.
 

NATURE AND SCOPE:
Position Reports to Sr Director National Creative.
This position has no direct reports.
 

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Environment:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Travel:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
 

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

 

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 3 years.
 

Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
 

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous creative experience in a retail environment or advertising agency is a must. Experience in responsive design and building rotating gifs with still images and video assets is required. Mastery of all the latest design tools, platforms, and versions of applicable software programs – Mac OS, Adobe CS6/Creative Suite with an emphasis on digital, Flash, Fireworks, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS/3 and other design tools.

Understanding limitations of Flash and other emerging platforms. Ability to deconstruct static creative elements e.g., Photoshop and convert to HTML for web publishing.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
Experience leading a team of designers, production specialists and writers to creative excellence Well-developed communication skills including ability to articulate creative concepts and rationale for client and team.
Experience with strategic brainstorming, campaign development, creative brief development and creative execution
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to think and respond quickly maintaining attention to detail.
Mastery of visual content creation, including planning and executing shoots for video and still photography.
