Comfort Works aims to breathe new life into living rooms across the globe, and we do this by creating beautiful handmade slipcovers for your old, tired sofas. Every aspect of our operations is done in-house, from web development to online marketing and content creation. From product design to product manufacturing, nothing is outsourced. We design with the belief that we can live simple and beautiful by trying to revive the hidden potential of our old furniture and doing our part for the planet.

Comfort Works is looking to hire TWO 3D Artists (Modellers) to join our existing 3D team at this exciting time of expansion. The ideal candidate is progressive and humble to adopt new methods. The fact that you have ninja-like skills for 3D is a coincidence. You have an eye for design, a great appreciation of interior design and the patience to get the finer details just right. You have strong modelling and texturing skills particularly in furniture and interior architecture. In this role, you will have a chance to experiment and push your skills to the next level.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a work-hard-play-hard group with solid management and top-notch resources. We are a close-knit team from all across the world, and we pride ourselves on our design philosophy and work culture. We are all very human focus (on how we treat our people and customers) and promote a healthy working environment. We generally favour the can-do attitude over hardcore technical skills. We offer flexible working hours, ongoing professional development, and collaborative office that practices agile methods.

This position is open for BOTH Malaysian locals and expats and you are required to be working in our Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia office. This is not a remote position.

The Opportunity

  • Work with a multi-cultural A-team of 3D modellers who prides themselves on the finer details and photorealism.
  • Learn agile methods by working cross-functionally with our products, content and production team.

  • Be mentored by a multidisciplinary lead, who emphasizes skill development and will provide exposure to different 3D technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

Play a key role in the company’s visual assets of our new products, which is crucial for our global customer’s purchase experience at comfortworks.com.au. You’ll create visual assets to support web design and campaign development across various digital channels including social media and e-commerce marketplaces. Always mindful to release and iterate when striving for visual excellence.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in 3ds Max, experience with Marvelous Designer and ZBrush is a plus.
  • Enjoys observing details and replicating real objects.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Openness to learn and take constructive feedback across departments.
  • Self-motivated to pick up and share new skills with the team.
  • Able to clearly communicate technical data to non-technical colleagues in English.
  • Organized, goal, and attention to detail-oriented.
  • Desire to work cross-discipline and take on tasks outside your usual skill set.
  • Patience - the job can get repetitive with constant fixes to make sure we get the finer details right.

Why Comfort Works?

  • We are a growth company with a startup mindset delivering to customers worldwide.
  • The production team in China where our slipcovers are manufactured and is fully owned and run by us as well as all photo/video/web development - we like to keep all things in-house.
