About me

Having recently completed a degree in English and Film Studies at Bangor University, I am currently seeking opportunities through which I can combine my enthusiasm and passion for literature in a professional capacity, more specifically in the publishing world.

From a young age, books have played an important part in my life, whether it has been simply reading them for pleasure or studying and critiquing literature at both A-Levels and degree level. This year I started a blog where I review young adult books that I have bought or been sent directly from the publishers in the form of an ARC. In doing this, I have not only been able to learn more about the books that are being published at the moment but I have also gained an insight into the publishing industry as a whole.

I am currently volunteering as an administrator at the Infection Control and Tissue Viability department at my local NHS hospital. In this position I have been able to develop a familiarity with database management and input as I often create data bases in Excel using patient's medical notes. I also write articles for the department's quarterly newsletter and help update the leaflets that are distributed throughout the hospital to ensure they fit the NHS standards.

In my role at the hospital I have demonstrated my ability to multi-task, work within a team but also work alone, using my own initiative to make sure any tasks I am given are completed in a timely and thorough fashion.

I have extensive experience using Microsoft Office applications and I am also confident using social media such as Twitter, Facebook and blogs.
