ABOUT
The Christmas' pretence, being nice only once a year, wearing the mask of the savior is the exact reason why I cannot celebrate this holiday.
The idea of only showing kindness or embodying certain virtues during a specific time of year—like Christmas—certainly feel insincere for me.
Christmas is often associated with ideals of generosity, compassion, and togetherness, yet when these actions are confined to a season or seen as a "mask," they can feel disconnected from the everyday practice of these values, particularly when everybody around cheering to this performance.
This week is funny, but the same time is presenting my disgusted for performative kindness we see during holidays each year.
