About me

My name is Joanna Doohan, I am a New Zealander who has been in the UK since March 2011. I am looking for a contract job up to 6 months as my visa is expiring in February 2013.

I have 7 years experience working in the litho print and design industry. I spent 4 years working as a graphic designer before I moved into the role of studio and print production manager in a print company in New Zealand. I am now working as a project manager for an in house design studio in London.

My current role is with the world's largest financial services organisation in the Global Public Affairs team. I manage projects within the studio from brief to delivery by allocating design time, writing print specs, liaising with suppliers to ensure projects are delivered on time and to spec, along with ensuring our brand is 100% on target.

During my employment in New Zealand I worked for New Zealand and Australia's leading print & communications business. I was the design studio / print production manager who looked after all work starting from the account managers, design studio, external suppliers, other branches of our company, press operators and finishing staff, ensuring all jobs were on time, quality controlled and running smoothly.

As well as managing the workflow through our branch, I worked with 5 of our other branches, coordinating out worked jobs. I have also worked with many forms of finishing and binding as I liaised with outsourced suppliers to achieve finishing (die cutting, foiling, embossing, spot UV etc) that we could not complete in-house.
