ABOUT

Design and artwork for digipack, booklet and CD. For the front cover Kevin had the idea of using Victorian-era photographer Napoleon Sarony's 1869 photograph of Rip Van Winkle actor Joseph Jefferson (an image in the public domain) but with the subject's stick replaced with an acoustic guitar Kevin used on the album which formerly belonged to folk singer Ralph McTell. I did my best to fully integrate the guitar into this iconic image and make it look as much as possible like it had always been there. The last image in this set shows the original Sarony photograph and Kevin's source shot of the guitar.
We kept the green textured background throughout the digipack and outer spread of the booklet, while for the inner lyric pages Kevin wanted straightforward black-on-white text along with photographs of his own.
