Javier Medellin Puyou illustration

Illustrated label for “Kuxillo” mezcal under the concept of the prehispanic culture of Mexico, where “Ah- Puch”, God of the underworld from the Mayan mythology, is shown along with a knife made of stone. The vegetation is Agave, the plants where the mezcal is taken from.
To come up with a good work, I knew I needed to embrace the topic as much as possible, so reading about the prehispanic culture of Mexico and the gods not only made me understood the topic much better, but I also learned a lot of interesting history and legends.
