About me

I am highly self-motivated and am looking for challenging employment that will give me a chance to really stretch myself. My written communication skills are excellent, and I am willing to work as hard as required to achieve the desired results. I am able to work on my own initiative, am highly dedicated to a task and, once committed, always put in the maximum amount of effort to ensure it is completed to as high a standard as I am capable of. I am able to prioritise tasks to ensure I always meet deadlines. I am eager to acquire and develop new skills.

I have recently completed a BA in Creative Writing, for which I received a 2:1. This has given me the experience of writing to deadline in a professional environment. In addition, I arranged a work placement for myself at the Worksop Guardian newspaper. During my placement I conducted phone interviews; collected quotes from members of the public in my local town centre and in neighbouring towns; wrote articles for the paper; devised the newspaper's weekly competition, and shadowed a reporter to the opening of a new bus station and a courtroom hearing. Many of the articles I wrote were published in the following weeks.

In addition, I write fortnightly articles for the Bolton Student Paper; gig and CD reviews for the ezine 'Ampedreviews.net,' and write demo and live reviews for Sandman Magazine. I also write articles for the fanzine A Short Fanzine About Rocking and Altsounds.net. I have recently had an article published in Karting Magazine. I edit the CD reviews section of leedsmusicscene.net, and maintain relationships between the team of review writers, and bands and record labels. I am willing to relocate.
