About me

Not a day has gone by were I haven't learnt something new in university, being here I have grown in leaps and bounds. Studying at university I found my graphic design language has evolved into something different, which is now making designs that are simple and eye catching. With a more iconic feel veering to the side of poster design. As well as that I have found that I enjoy publication design, being more interested in designing magazines and would really like to look into designing for interactive publications. This is manly because I would like my design practice to keep up with the times, and I have always had a thirst for knowledge and an aptitude to learn new skills.

I have just completed my final year in University studying BA Hons in Graphic Design of which I achieved a 2:1.

I gather my influences from different places like music personalities, films and television as well as this the graphic designers that I looks to are people like Olly Moss because of his simple yet iconic way of translating an idea into a design. This is also the same reason why Milton Glaser influences me and would love to one day have just one design that would be a well known as his 'I love New York' design is. I also look to David Carson because of the ethos he takes where that you don't have to follow the rules of graphic design to make something look good. I also like to search for new and interesting things to influence me not only from the Internet and books but also from well designed pieces of work found in my everyday life, one of the best places for me to find this sort of inspiration is from a pack called 'Don't Panic' where is show cases work from designers and artists.

I see myself in the future working in a design agency were I can further my graphic design knowledge and style. As well as that I would like to learn new skills to make me a more rounded designer like photography, interactive design and even life drawing. And the real dream for myself is to own and manage my own graphic design business and then being able to teach people about graphic design so that I could pass on the torch.
