ABOUT
Worlds: inspiration, design, print.
There are currently six works in the Worlds series.
It started off with 'The Left Hand of Darkness' by Ursula Le Guin - one of my all time favourite novels. Throughout several years, even before I started working with digital illustration, I kept drawing desolate, arctic landscapes, environments which had an unnamed, unnerving, alien element to them. Finally I started bringing this fascination to the digital media, and after creating 'Gethen' I felt like this was it.
I then realised that there are many other novels I could work with. It allowed me to re-live those novels and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I worked on 'Arrakis' next, being very impressed by the recent film adaptation as well. Then the rest followed, and the 'Urras' illustration is definitely my favourite out of the last four.
This is an ongoing series, I'm planning on starting the next poster illustration soon - considering Dan Simmons' 'Hyperion' saga.
