ABOUT

The Unseen is a haunting psychological thriller that delves into the fragile boundaries between grief, guilt, and madness. The film follows Gemma and Will, a young couple shattered by the sudden death of their toddler son. Struggling to come to terms with their loss, Gemma begins to experience panic attacks and distorted vision, while Will becomes tormented by what he believes are the ghostly echoes of their child’s voice.

In a desperate attempt to find solace, they accept an invitation from Paul, a former pharmacist and friend, to spend time at his secluded retreat in the Lake District. But what begins as a peaceful escape soon descends into psychological turmoil. As Gemma grows increasingly dependent on Paul’s calm and calculated presence, Will’s paranoia deepens, and their mutual grief turns into a dangerous cycle of obsession, mistrust, and emotional manipulation.
Cinematically, the film mirrors the couple’s unraveling psyche through blurring visuals, shifting perspectives, and claustrophobic framing, immersing the viewer in Gemma’s disoriented state of mind.

At its heart, The Unseen examines how profound loss can distort reality and erode the bonds of love. Gary Sinyor crafts a tense, atmospheric portrait of emotional collapse, a story where the true horror lies not in the supernatural, but in the unseen depths of human grief.
