ABOUT

Brief:

Personally set by Elmwood in Leeds, the brief was to create a range of premium wine packaging. It had to have a cohesive and ownable look and feel across 3 wine bottles. This could be typographic, illustrative or photographic.

Solution:

The influence of Ancient Greece on wine is significant, not only to the Greek wine industry but the development of almost all European wine regions and the history of wine itself.

The Greeks also have a God of winemaking called Dionysus. My solution is called 'Ambrosius', which means immortal and divine. The bottles feature different Gods, Apollo, Dionysus and Ares. These Gods were all sons of Zues, and reflect alternative versions of him. Ares for example was known for war, thus reflecting negativity. This is then reinforced by the flavour of that specific bottle, which comes from the grape Xinomavro (acid black).
