ABOUT

I was commissioned to create typographic title pages for a collection of short stories entitled Jellyfish. Using extracts from the stories, I hoped to create intrigue and set the tone for the story that followed.

Typesetting the quotes like headlines to match the strength of the words, I photographed them underwater. The ripples and distortion are intended to allude to the themes that underpin the entire book: that no action exists without consequence, and that the characters are all subject to influences outside their control. The water also echoes the aquatic nature of the title.
