To use a classic image of Morrissey for The Big Issue and commission an illustrator to give it a contemporary feel.

Found Peter Strain who uses a modern mix of typography and detailed portraiture to give the cover a lift. Directed him to use a similar type of orange found on The Smiths 'Louder Than Bombs' cover.

The style produced a bold cover which had elements carried over to use throughout the main feature in the magazine. The client (The Big Issue editor) was really happy with the final cover.
