Background
z arts Centre is Manchester's only multi-art form venue dedicated to providing top quality creative experiences for young and old alike with after school, Saturday and holiday workshops in dance, drama, music, radio, visual & digital arts for our young patrons. Zion also offers a full programme of educational opportunities for adults and our gallery programme is open for all to enjoy. The z arts building celebrated its 100th birthday on October 11th 2011 and the history and heritage of the building can be seen in each space. Officially opened by Mary Ryland’s, the building was designed to serve the community and has upheld this proud mission for the last ten decades.



Characteristics of Identity
Like any other identity z arts as many characteristics which builds it up, to look at this more in depth, z arts beliefs structure is Inspiring Creativity as well try to be modern without allaying itself on the title of Zion. The Language of the identity speaks to those within co-operative side of things, but also at the same time speaks to the general public. These are not the just the people they try to talk to the other
voices Z art tries to talk to with this identity are-
• Under 16’s and their parents
• Over 16’s and adults
• Artists
• General public / Events
• Corporate & Third Sector clients
• Education (teachers, schools and colleges and universities)

Strengths of Identity
Unlike other identity in Manchester it doesn't alley itself with the identity of Manchester, by doing this is helps it stands on its own. But on the co-creative side of things z art is part of Zion arts but like the identity of Manchester it doesn't alley on it and it breaks away from the building of Zion.

Weakness of Identity
They’re many weakness of this identity starting with trying to see the letter Z in the design. After a lengthy discussion on this subject it is hard to see the letter Z at first. The Z is lost in translation and is over shadowed by ether two triangles or an hourglass, but in my view the Z must be fleshed out more to make more sense. Also after viewing other place like Z Arts in Manchester, with out being told what the identity are you wouldn't think this identity was part of the Manchester Arts or even part of the arts at all.
