About me
I'm obsessed with video. Always have been. These days I split my time between creative directing client work and trying to run BearJam, which started out as my first baby and is now firmly my third.
I founded BearJam in 2012 as a one-man-band videographer. Fourteen years on, it's an award-winning full-service video production agency with an absolutely amazing team, and we've been lucky enough to direct, produce, and shape strategy for brands like the Wall Street Journal, NBCUniversal, McDonald's, UBS, Landsec, and Netflix.
I came up through the craft. Years on set operating cameras, shooting, and working on edits. That's where I fell for all of this in the first place, and it still shapes how I approach every brief.
A lot of my work now sits where that traditional craft meets AI. When generative tools started shaking things up, I landed on a pretty firm view: AI should make good filmmaking better, not replace the people who know how to do it.
So at BearJam we build workflows that fold generative tools into proper production, and help brands make sense of where AI actually helps. The best bit is showing people they can make big, cinematic work without the big budget, as long as there's real strategy and craft holding it together.
When I'm not doing that, I sit on the APA's AI Taskforce, speak fairly often about what generative video means for the industry, and run workshops on using the tools without losing the craft. I've also been shortlisted for AI Communications Leader of the Year at Communicate Magazine's AI Comms Awards.
