ABOUT

Pilgrimage magazine is a true story which sheds light on the current refugee disaster, giving the readers primary access to the harsh reality of the refugees attempt to find a better life. Pilgrimage reflects the journey these refugees entail by bringing personal experiences to the magazine. We feel that the topic has not been publicised accordingly and recently it has caused a heated debate in regards to people turning a blind eye to this matter. There is reported 6.5million refugees in Syria alone. They’ve viewed their families and loved ones lives end before them, and unfortunately there hasn’t been a stop to this. The Syrian refugees who attempt to flee are trying to find a better way of living for themselves and their family, surely you’d do the same? This issue takes on the journey of Abdul, a Syrian who is looking to better his life for him and his family. He has two kids and a wife in Syria, both awaiting his reply to see if he has made it. This is his pilgrimage...

The materials used throughout this project have all been carefully selected to represent Abduls story, scrap pieces of cardboard used for the packaging, tied together with string as well as printing the whole magazine over Turkish / Syrian newspapers which are talking about the terrorist crimes as well as what is happening to the millions of refugees there.
