Coffee & Co originally had very simple branding. I was asked to create typographic, bespoke pieces of
artwork that would make their brand stand out! The brief stated that the lettering should be of a vintage style and the colour should be two tone, to keep the printing costs to a minimum. I used my typography skills to add custom, illustrative touches to the lettering.This resulted in a modern design, that fits with current design trends. I decided to turn the design into a marketing campaign with the view that customer social media usage would create free advertising for the company, using hash-tagging as a promotional tool. The idea is for people to draw/write their own message on the coffee cup then upload it to instagram tagging in the company using @coffee+co, and hash-tagging #CoffeeCoABoard, to provide further exposure to other potential customers. The posters that I created would be placed around the inside and the outside of the coffee shop, to make customers aware of the hash-tag campaign. The staff would also be briefed to prompt the customers to share their coffee on social media. Branded pens and pencils would be dotted around the coffee shop to provide further encouragement. The social media buzz would encourage customers to buy the coffee and get involved with the latest trend!
