If the soil is sick, then the seed can’t flourish.
Stop awhile and consider that Allah made shade and sun, shelter and rain.
Allah made green and filled the land with it, and made it ease our hearts.
I wander in rain past a clear window, where a worker stands on break
reciting Qur’an.
“You fit quite perfectly in that spot” between two empty phone boxes.
A man came to the people of the city,
Asking them to come home.
Allah made still and Allah made quiet. Allah made the robin beautiful.
It could have been otherwise. It could have fallen when it flew.
Allah made humans as such that they would blow their horns
instead of running each other down.
Wander away from routine to Allah.
Avoid idle chatter.
Notice a familiar sign and follow it to greetings of peace
and the Mercy of God.
Allah made birdsong.
