ABOUT
The Raise Cumbria organisation brings together communities, landowners, policy makers and artists to co-create sustainable woodland in diverse landscapes to address the climate crisis and improve the health, wellbeing and opportunities of Cumbrian people.
Recognising the holistic and community-driven nature of their mission, Raise Cumbria sought a comprehensive branding strategy that included everything from the organisation's name and visual identity to its website and workwear.
The brief called for the creation of a brand identity that would resonate with a variety of stakeholders and reflect the organisation's core values of sustainability, community engagement, and innovation in environmental stewardship.
The visual identity needed to be versatile enough to be impactful across various media, from digital platforms to physical materials like workwear, ensuring consistency and recognition.
Key deliverables included developing a memorable name that encapsulated the organisation’s mission and belief that 'it takes a community to raise a forest'. This was swiftly followed by logos and visual themes that could carry the ethos of environmental and community regeneration. Construction of an engaging and informative website completed phase one along with a comprehensive set of guidelines and a suite of branded touchpoints to ensure each engagement with the brand raised awareness and sometimes even a smile.
This website was designed to serve not just as an informational platform but also as a hub for collaboration and engagement, inviting input and interaction from community members and stakeholders.
It was vital for the project to include the strategic use of branding on clothing and other physical items to enhance visibility and reinforce the communal and inclusive nature of Raise Cumbria’s activities.
The ultimate goal was to build a cohesive and inspiring brand experience that would empower the organisation to lead significant environmental and social change effectively.
