ABOUT

For this project I was asked to pick a famous celebrity to be a Mayor candidate for either Manchester, Liverpool, or Chester. I decided to pick Liverpool because I like the city, it has a rich history, lot’s of tourist attractions, and in 2008 it was the city of culture. David Morrissey was an ideal candidate for me because he fit’s the stereotype for men; he appears strong and brave. He is originally from Liverpool, and he is a well known actor in the Uk; most famous for playing the Governor in “The walking dead,” and appearing in Dr Who. For the campaign I decided on using printed media and digital media; these included bus stop posters, billboards, taxi’s, and building projections. I decided on these because they can be placed all over the city, and they are big, bold, and eye catching. The message I wanted to communicate was that Morrissey could see the problems in Liverpool and he would resolve them, I used his last name as a pun to show this. The illustration style was influenced by Shepard Fairey’s “Hope” poster for Barrack Obama’s presidential campaign.
