A big issue in the Uk is small pet care; compared to cats and dogs smaller pets tend to be neglected and forgotten about. Kids will often want an animal because they saw it on TV show or film, then after a couple of weeks the novelty will wear off, so the animal will rarely be handled, cleaned out, fed, or cared for. So I needed to show kids and parents whats involved in looking after small pets; they need just as much love and care as a cat or dog would have, and that they aren’t toys. To do this I decided on a poster campaign; each of these posters has a message as if the guinea pig was talking to the viewer, and they all have a link to the website. The guinea pigs in the photos are my own and they were photographed by me; I wanted them to look like characters, have personality to them, and to look at the message. The website on the posters is the go to place for all things related to small pets; such as what they can eat, how to clean them out, and much more. It also has video tutorials to explain certain things in more detail; such as nail clipping.
