For this brief we had to come up with a unique business idea, our idea was to collect old materials like clothing and left over fabrics, and give them a new lease of life by furnishing home decor. We would gather our materials from various places including charity shops, fabric shops, and the website prevloved; buying from these suppliers would lower our spending costs. As the business is new we would have to start off with small items such as cushions and bags, and as we grow we would start to broaden our product range by selling larger products like chairs and bedding. We would promote the business on sites like Facebook and Instagram, visit design shows to gain clients and get our name out there, and sell through sites like Etsy and Notonthehighstreet. In the future we would hope to rent out a studio to make, sell, and exhibit our artefacts. As all of our pieces are handmade high quality items we can afford to sell them for a premium price; our target audience won’t be looking to refurnish their whole house, so they will be willing to spend more money on a one-off piece.
