ABOUT

Hooton Park has had a rich history including a manor house, a race course, and RAF hangers. Currently two of the hangers are being used for car storage, and the third is collapsing. Because of this they need more income to preserve the site; so we were asked to come up with a new identity for the site including a logo, stationary, website, a way finding system, and a purpose for the site. For the logo I decided to go with something that was abstract, represented the site, and had a hint of heritage. The colours were chosen because they are the RAF colours, and I created the abstract illustration to represent the hanger; the curve shows the roof, and the lines crossing on the inside show the lattice roof structure. I thought it would be a great idea to have different things in each hanger; such as bowling, cinema, restaurant, indoor paintball etc. Because each activity is different there is something for everyone; the target audience would be massive. Obviously the owners haven’t decided on what they want to use the space for yet, so my logo isn’t tied down to this idea.
