About me

Dear Employer,

I am writing to apply for the Copywriter which was advertised on Indeed.

In terms of qualifications, I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Copywriting from the Blackford Centre, which is accredited by ABC Awards.

Additionally, I graduated from the University of Bradford with an upper second class honours Media Studies degree in 2014. At University I was involved in a few productions such as the student union's newspaper where I held the sports editor role from 2012 until my graduation.

I have a paperback publication on many online book stores called And Shearer Has Won It. Two more novels are set to be published in 2015.

I have worked on other non-sports related pieces whilst working at the newspaper. These have ranged from interviews with upcoming local singer/songwriters and female boxers to DVD reviews. I currently hold a portfolio which includes over 300 journalistic articles, three novels and two screenplays.

I have also written freelance pieces for different websites and magazines. In particular are SoccerLens and Shoot! Magazine, largely concerning football whilst building up a blog independently from September 2011.

Whilst at University I presented a two-hour sports show for two successive years at the student union's radio station. I have also presented on BCB Radio at Bradford, presenting sport shows on a weekend.

Previously, I left Sixth Form College in Brighouse, West Yorkshire with 3 A levels in 2011 after achieving 7A*-C GCSEs at Brighouse High School.

I have held down small, part-time jobs from 2011 to 2015 at a garden centre, Oxfam, McDonald's and Greggs. I have developed team skills as well as communication skills, both with colleagues and customers.

Due to university projects and in my previous work experience I have developed team working skills on many platforms. This ranges from academic, broadcasting and employment capacities.

Through these different environments I have improved my adaptability as well as punctuality and organisation to meet sales targets and certain deadlines for all manner of projects.
