ABOUT

This project was fuelled by a culmination of my own experience, witnessing ignorance in the first degree during my time at University. I’m fascinated with the study of asemic writing, my inspiration for the set of characters I created, all came from the Hobo Code. The working intention behind this typeface, would be for the “non ignorant” people of the world to use the type to leave spiteful messages to the ignorant population through graffiti and other mediums.

The start of the project saw me look into the negligence that terms and conditions are put through. Countless people would be willing to sign their life away unknowingly. This led me on to propose the Ignorance Awareness campaign to the Union at Manchester Metropolitan, the campaign was palette was orientated around the colour orange, given the likeness to the end of the word ignORANCE, it was easy to manipulate people into misreading the campaign. The proposed campaign would be a confession session for ignorance abusers.
