From my school days I have always been making films. When I left college I got a Creative and Digital Media apprenticeship with my local council where I designed promotional materials, made videos and took photos to promote the Apprenticeship Scheme, amongst other council initiatives. After completing my apprenticeship, gaining the 'Apprentice of the Year' award, I went to study filmmaking at The Northern Film School. While I went into the film school with a good knowledge of editing, I quickly learned I wanted to specialise as a director of photography. I studied the advanced art and techniques of cinematography under the great DoP's: Philip Robertson and Tunji Akinsehinwa. I graduated from The Northern Film School with a first class degree and an award for 'Outstanding Cinematography'. I'm currently looking for somewhere to apply my skill as a filmmaker.
