ABOUT

Background
For nearly a decade, Stranger Things fans have been piecing together Hawkins, trying to get closer to a world they’d only ever seen through a screen. The Microsoft Flight Simulator x Stranger Things DLC promised a world first: a fully explorable 1:1 digital recreation of Hawkins. But with one of entertainment’s most fiercely protective fanbases, every part of the campaign had to feel like it genuinely belonged in Hawkins, circa 1986.

Idea
Known for government cover-ups, missing persons and interdimensional horror, Hawkins is the last place you’d ever book a sightseeing tour. So, with the help of the Duffer Brothers, we launched one: Hawkins Heli-Tours.

And like every 1980s travel agency worth its neon signage, we wrote a jingle to go with it.

Produced with Netflix Music Labs, the track was designed to feel like a genuine slice of upbeat 1980s Americana. Built from analogue synths, tape-worn textures and bright choral harmonies, it sold Hawkins as the perfect family getaway destination, whilst every line subtly hinted at the sinister reality underneath.

The jingle’s relentlessly optimistic tone became a deliberate counterpoint to the demobats, interdimensional rifts and apocalyptic weather encountered throughout the hero film and wider campaign world.

A catchy tourism anthem for the last place on earth you’d ever want to visit.
