The Golden Portrait Inspired by the Ancient Bulgarian Cultural Heritage
This personal work serves as both an artistic exploration and a study of the underlying principles that guided the shaping of forms in ancient art. Drawing inspiration from the golden treasures of the Thracian civilization, I am not only recreating a female portrait but also delving into the reasons behind the sculptural decisions of the past. By carefully analyzing the surface textures and forms of these ancient works, I’ve sought to understand the intentions that influenced their design. From this research, I’ve created a new form—one that reflects the internal conditions and philosophical ideals embodied by the Thracians. The resulting portrait represents more than just the physical structure of the face; it captures a refined balance of proportion, spiritual freedom, and an idealized vision of harmony.
My project, "The Golden Portrait," is not just a representation of the physical form, but an embodiment of freedom, expressed through a timeless and harmonious visage.
