I am writing to you in support of my application for the position you have advertised. I became aware of this opportunity through an online posting at your career site and I strongly believe that my qualifications and expertise match the requirements of this position. I currently live and work in London but I am excited in the prospect of moving to York.
I hold a BSc in Graphic Design and I am currently completing a distance-learning MSc in Graphic Arts and Multimedia. I have more than ten years of experience in a wide range of topics including conceptual and interaction design, wireframes and prototyping, and video and photo editing. I am highly skilled with Adobe tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD, After Effects, Fuse, Muse, Captivate, Spark, Audition and Handbrake) as well as with tools from other vendors including Mockplus, Sketch and Preps.
I am currently employed as a Digital Design Support Specialist/Adobe Applications Trainer in the Adobe Applications Support unit of a world-leading architecture firm (Foster+Partners). There I am working as a part of graphics support and product team to build and maintain the F+P mobile app and modernize the app categories and make them more users friendly. I have expertise in making screen designs user friendly as well as responsive, for various devices and to create wireframes by using prototyping methods. Also, I am responsible for designing and delivering bespoke training courses on digital publishing applications of the Adobe Creative suite. The courses I deliver are attended by highly-skilled professionals (architects, civil engineers) undertaking large-scale projects including urban masterplans, transportation infrastructure (such as the new Mexico International Airport and the Jeddah metro) and civic and cultural buildings (such as the new Apple Campus).
In my career so far I have had several opportunities to work both individually and in the context of large teams and I am equally comfortable with both settings. I have also developed outstanding communication skills through liaising with colleagues and customers of diverse expertise and backgrounds.
