Democratyzed is a platform created for legislators in Virginia to have better communication channels with their constituents. For this project, I worked with a fellow UI design student at Flatiron School as we worked on our own divergent designs but collaborated on user interviews and presented user data to the clients as we made informed design decisions.

The main project objectives were to optimise the user flow in a way that allows users to better engage and learn about legislations. We conducted several rounds of user interviews to observe how participants completed tasks. This allowed us to understand which elements were successful as well as point to those which didn't work well. This was especially beneficial when making informed design decisions during reiterations.

Our second objective was to recreate a brand identity for Democratyzed that was void of political bias by leveraging the design principle of bringing people together in unity. We achieved this through desirability testing visual design direction that best resonated with the test participants.

This resulted in a platform that had straightforward visual elements that guided users from one point to another with a brand identity that creates a safe space for citizens of Virginia to learn about legislations.
