About me

Ilona is currently studying for her MA Fine Arts at The Arts Bournemouth University, UK. In 2010, she graduated with MA Fine Arts from The Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, archiving her diploma in Furniture Design at the Interior Design Faculty.

She has now established herself in the UK, following a series of open exhibitions in Poland and Italy.

As a painter, she is taking her inspiration from her surrounding, focusing on the subjects the wider audience can touch upon. The motif of a gender takes her recent focus, the changes and social challenges they deliver.

Her works are also the reflection on living in the digital age and the excessive number of the information delivered to our senses and its effect on the population.

Her practice includes traditional techniques such as drawing and oil painting.

Her representative works come from her fascination in human body- it s physical appearance and its changing nature.

She is interested in creating a tension and dynamic in her painting, wanting them to come directly on the nervous system of the viewer. She is convinced that the combination of trust in instinct and letting the canvas to take the lead are the way to create a powerful image.
