Ferrari Dino is a mid–engine sports car from the 70`s. It was placed in the top 10
“Greatest Ferraris of all times”.
The Dino 246 was the first model of the brand provided in high numbers, an
attempt by the company to offer a relatively low cost sports car. It was lauded by
many for it`s great handling, excellent driving experience and safeness.
The stunning esthetics with perfect proportions inspired me and I chose that
legendary styled sports car as a basis of my concept. The curved soft surfaces, the
fenders great volumes and the lower tail make this sports car unique with noticeable
and recognizable silhouette.
These well measured shapes are recreated in my concept, combined with modern
sharpness that bring aggressive and at the same time stylish feeling.
The lights are very important for a vehicle because of their functionality and of
course for the overall appearance. The headlights are the “eyes”. For them I used
clean shapes connected to the minimalistic and balanced forms of the body bringing
an expression for a sports car.
The lights concept is OLED technology directly utilized in the bodies of all emissive
parts. Crystal structure adds details and fragmentation of the surfaces in the DRL,
the repeaters and the rear lights. The headlight is divided in several parts. Main body
from black rough plastic, DRL and repeater surrounded by black chrome coated
element, also the beam projector is black chrome coated. All parts covered with
tinted black plastic glass smoothly finishing the front part of the fender. The tail light
is typical for Ferrari with two circle separated parts each consisted of sectioned ring,
doubled fan-like stop lights and in the middle repeater, respectively reverse light. The
rear light main body is also black chrome coated and outer tinted black plastic glass.
