ABOUT

Concept:

Problem: Equal Care Co-op’s social care platform was sometimes unintuitive, and did not have a great mobile experience. Therefore, it was not easy to learn or navigate, and basically had big lists of information that were difficult for users to consume. This meant that Equal Care Co-op needed a platform that worked well for their governance structure, technophobic employees, and mobile-friendly for care workers that are on-the-go giving support.

Challenge:
To enhance the responsive and accessible Equal Care Co-op social care platform by doing the following:
- Designing usability improvements, including the dashboard, header, navigation, and booking calendar.
- Designing new features, such as chatbot notifications, additional dashboard features, payments & invoicing, membership tools, and a training tracker.

Execution:
1. Creating a research plan to organise each UX research activity.
2. Researching, using various UX research activities such as competitor analysis, producing a topic map, conducting client interviews, and creating affinity maps, personas and problem statements (including two hypotheses).
3. Defining the strategy and the scope of the project.
4. Empathy mapping, sketching two storyboards via pencil and paper and producing two user flows, one based on the governance structure and one based on finding cover to work.
5. Producing a multi-persona user journey map for the Equal Care Co-op social care platform, based on the two personas and problem statements created in the UX research stage.
6. Creating a sitemap of the Equal Care Co-op social care platform in Figma.
7. Producing the design system.
8. Wireframing.
9. Making desktop, tablet and mobile prototypes in Figma of the Equal Care Co-op social care platform.

Results: An enhanced responsive and accessible Equal Care Co-op social care platform that worked well for their governance structure, technophobic employees, and mobile-friendly for care workers that are on-the-go giving support.
