ABOUT

The aim of this project was to create an artistic spread for a publication within the layout guidelines. The story I wanted to explore and present was about the London Buskers. I have noticed that there is a misunderstanding of any street and underground performers and my goal was to learn and understand them more. I didn’t just want to photograph them, but wanted to talk to them, get to know them and see beyond what most of the public sees when walking past them.

The project didn’t require text, but more of a story telling with images. I decided for it to be like a showcase of various styles and looks. Something like a photo book.
Once I met few and realised that they are more than just a busker I wanted to incorporate various ages, ethnicities and skills they held to show the broad talent there is.

It is a project I would like to continue and create a publication with images of only the buskers of London. Something to look forward to as this feels very unfinished.

For the project - I used an analogue camera and black and white film.
