About me
Ian Mackenzie is Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Memory, a Toronto-based brand performance agency built to unite bold creativity with measurable business growth. A globally recognized creative leader, he has spent more than two decades helping brands solve complex business challenges through the intersection of creativity, technology and AI.
Prior to founding Memory, Ian served as Chief Creative Officer of McCann Worldgroup Canada and Global Creative AI Lead for McCann Worldgroup. He also co-founded FCB/SIX, Ad Age's first Data & Analytics Agency of the Year, and was a founding CCO of Performance Art, one of the world's highest-ranked creative agencies in 2022.
Throughout his career, Ian has led creative on some of the world's most recognized and innovative campaigns, including "Our Food. Your Questions." for McDonald's, "Destination Pride" for PFLAG, "Black Elevation Map" for Black & Abroad and "Hofmeister Kink" for BMW - work that has helped redefine categories, sparked global conversation and driven measurable business results.
His work has earned more than 500 international awards, including 31 Cannes Lions, the D&AD Black Pencil, Grand Prix honours, One Show Pencils, Clios, Webbys and Effies, including the Global Grand.
Today, Ian is focused on helping organizations build the next generation of creative systems - combining idea-driven system design with AI to create work that is emotionally resonant, culturally relevant and commercially effective.
