The Golden Elephant is an interactive film installation that reveals and interrupts how viewing as entertaining behaviour constructs the imaginaries of power and willing participation. Audience is invited to step onto the red carpet to receive an award, triggering the appearance of an elephant’s shadow. The elephant refers to 'the elephant in the room' illustrating the ignored fact: in the social media age, individuals willingly become images and display value on screens, seduced by the illusion of being seen, surrendering subjectivity to power.
