ABOUT

I chose to set Macbeth in the high-octane fuelled world of Formula One. The sport is ambitious, masculine, fast paced and oozes with blood lust. Macbeth slowly alienates himself from the prying public eye in the pursuit of his goal of driving the red goddess The King of Scotland. His garage is kept clean, but as he is driven by his ambition, he begins to trash and thrash his garage which is a metaphor for his mind. His car is his sword and the battles commence on track.
For this piece, I won the W.B Yeats Bursary Award for a six month long internship at The Abbey Theatre, Dublin.
