I created a fifteen-minute documentary on the non-profit organisation 'Poi Passion' & 'Circus Seen' in Worthing. This organisation teaches people of all ages and disabilities the art of circus tricks and poi spinning. I spent months getting to know the people who run the organisation, as well as the clients who attend classes each week. As Director, i wanted to get to know my subjects so that i could tell their story in the most honest and intriguing way. It was incredible to see how learning circus tricks has helped change these peoples lives for the better. I didn't want to just make a documentary promoting poi, i wanted it to speak to my audience on a deeper level. I wanted to raise awareness on the negative stereotypes that are linked with special needs and disability, and prove to my audience that anyone can do anything they want to if they put their mind to it.
