ABOUT

As part of my final year University project I was given the responsibility of carrying out a creative documentary project, this project was created by me and had to reflect my creativity. I decided to focus on the subjects of Education and Creativity bringing them together and having this as the main theme of the documentary. I was given a deadline which meant that the project had to be complete on the 3 May 2016 for assessment.

Casting the right subjects who had the ability to story tell and drive the project was important, I decided to focus on two young creative entrupeneurs both from my local area, having researched I came across a female photographer well known in the UK Instagram photographer world and a male musician/ CEO of a media company.

My approach to the process consisted of constantly staying in communication with both subjects as they were important factors of this documentary being produced, arranging to film them, adjusting to their availabilities for shooting. Ensuring I had the right equipments to carry out the film whilst focusing on the creative direction of the documentary. I learnt the importance of communication and that through useful communication it can bring about great results, also having a deadline can be demanding and challenging but helped me manage my time of completing the filming and then editing the piece of footages collected through the time of filming.

I was pleased with how the documentary turned out and decided that the best way I could show friends and family as well as those who were interested in my documentary would be via YouTube. I chose a day to release the documentary and used social media as a platform to promote the documentary creating awareness in order for people to watch it. This process went reasonably well.
