About me

I have recently finished studying a BA (Hons) in Graphic Arts and Design at Leeds Metropolitan University. As a graphic designer I work illustratively and mainly with type, although I have the capabilities to be diverse, working in all areas of graphic design. I am a mature and reliable individual; with plenty of motivation and energy to complete any task I am given. I am capable of working under pressure, to meet all deadlines as I can make quick and efficient decisions. I have a vibrant sense of design and colour with an ability to use my initiative to solve problems. From working in retail for over three years, I am confident in communicating well with others and working well as part of a team. Aside from graphic design, I am a fan of indie music and attend gigs on a regular basis. I also enjoy going to watch the latest films and generally socialising with friends. All three of which inspire me in my designs.

In regards to experience in the design industry, I have some work experience at Deviate Design and Pronta Print in Barnsley, where I spent two weeks at each, whilst at school and college. Since completeing my degree I have had a two weeks work placement at Iris Associates and I am currently a Intern at Creative Arthur. I have a good understanding of printing, paper stocks, typography and layouts. I am also competant in areas of Adobe Creative Suite CS5.

July 2012 - Present - Creative Arthur, Graphic Designer - Roles include designing for all printed matter, posters, leaflets, staionery, identites, website layouts etc., July 2012 - Iris Associates, Two weeks placement - Graphic Designer - Roles included; designing a reward card campaign for a leading pet store and re-branding a over 50s insurance company., July 2009 - Deviate Design Ltd, Two weeks placement - Graphic Designer Roles included; designing posters and flyers to promote the Thompson Local in Barnsley and brouchure design for a luxury hotel chain.
