About me

My name is Hayley Lockhart, I am 22 from Jersey Channel Islands. I am moving to London to pursue a change in direction in my career. I studied Media and Communication at Bournemouth University, graduated 2010. I have spent the last two years working in radio, both commercial and BBC.

I am a confident, hardworking and reliable individual looking to seek work in advertising. I am a great people person and enjoy working as part of a team. I am passionate about the media industry and would love the opportunity to gain further experience.

Skills

I have a wide range of media skills through my degree, including Journalism, PR, Marketing, Advertising and Politics. My degree has given me a great understanding of the media industry and I am looking forward to developing these skills, especially advertising.

Sector Experience

Over the last two years I have been working in radio, both commercial and BBC. I have gained skills in presenting, production and promotion. Through presenting I have been able to understand and work with a specific target audience as well as developing communication skills which are necessary in the media industry. I am a confident speaker and feel that my upbeat personality brings out the best in my work. In production I have utilised my multi-tasking skills as I would have to write cues and scripts for the presenter as well as organise upcoming interviews. Also, I had to communicate with presenters, guests and the general public which has taught me the importance of prioritising tasks. Lastly, I have gained experience in sponsorship and promotions which included researching ideas and pitching to colleagues and clients. I learned the importance of brand awareness and development of concepts.
