Life Interrupted is an award-winning immersive web experience created by Novartis and Havas Health & You (Havas Mango) for Sickle Cell Disease Awareness Month, designed to help healthcare professionals empathize with the lived reality of SCD patients. Centered around Phillip, a real patient, the experience places viewers in four key life moments disrupted by painful vaso-occlusive crises—at school, abroad on business, during family time, and in a near-death ER incident—using a theatrical rotating-stage format that keeps participants stationary as the world changes around them. The journey culminates in a powerful, face-to-face conversation with Phillip, shifting the focus from clinical data to emotional understanding. Recognized with a Clio Health Bronze in the “Immersive – Pharma” category, the project stands out for transforming complex medical experiences into human stories that educate, resonate, and inspire change.
