During the summer, I joined a nonprofit organization called Saudis In USA that offers its resources to help Saudis studying abroad in the United States. For the organization's 8th anniversary, I was included in a team of 3 to conceptualize, storyboard, animate, and produce a video no longer than 5 minutes to be broadcasted on local TV channels in Saudi Arabia and on the organization's various social media. While I was not involved in any of the 3D aspects of the video (the intro and the background tree), I contributed to the concept and audio, I took the lead in storyboarding, and I was in control of most visual elements, like creating icons, typography, and picking the color scheme. I was in charge of montage and motion graphics as well, overseen and supervised by the team leader. The biggest challenge in this project was the fact that some of our team members were in different parts of the country, each working on their own projects, coordinating only came in bursts, there wasn't much interaction in the middle of editing and everything had to be rendered before sharing, and when the result of the other team member doesn't match what I and the team leader had in mind we can't do much about it. Yet it was still an incredible experience to combine the talents of different people into one result. The video was received well by the client, the board of SiU, the social media followers, and the audiences back home.
