Te Papa Talks was an event inspired by DreamWorks Animation: The Exhibition (DWA). Developed at Te Papa with Victoria University, the programme celebrated the digital creative industry and connected its practitioners with young people. This solution brought a new dimension to Te Papa’s approach to testing new experiences with audiences.

To better understand audience needs, we ran a series of workshops with industry experts, young creatives, and internal staff. The concept favoured by participants became the essence of Te Papa Talks. Following the workshops, a multi-disciplinary team of designers and educators worked to refine and deliver the event.

The programme included talks by industry professionals, a networking event and an exhibition tour with Kelly Cooney (DWA). Hands-on workshops the following day enabled people to connect with industry and exchange knowledge.
